This class draws on some of the standing postures of the Ashtanga Primary Series, taught at a slower pace with a focus on alignment and structure. Both Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga come from the teachings of Krishnamacharya, who taught students including K. Pattabhi Jois and B. K. S. Iyengar, each of whom developed their own distinct approach. This class brings elements of those traditions back together — combining the intelligent sequencing of Ashtanga with the precision and use of props often associated with Iyengar yoga.
